For our first post, we decided to go with THE most important part of developing and maintaining a beautiful smile.

WHY IS ORAL HYGIENE IMPORTANT?

1. IT AFFECTS YOUR OVERALL HEALTH.

Your mouth serves as the gateway to the rest of the body. The mouth serves as a vantage point for detecting early symptoms of systemic diseases. Health complications that may be caused by poor oral hygiene include: diabetes, cardiovascular conditions (heart attacks and strokes), pregnancy complications, cancer, sepsis, and Alzheimer’s’ disease

2. EARLIER DETECTION OF ORAL DISEASES.

Dental examinations and cleanings can help detect any oral conditions or health complications caused by oral diseases.

3. PREVENT TOOTH LOSS.

One of the reasons for tooth loss is poor oral hygiene. Poor oral hygiene may result in severe tooth decay or gum infection, which in turn may cause tooth loss. Regular and proper brushing and flossing can help reduce plaque build-up and prevent gum disease and bone loss.

4. TO HAVE A WHITER AND BRIGHTER SMILE.

For a healthy smile, you must practice good oral hygiene every day. Keeping your teeth plaque-free can help you smile with confidence.
